Ei bine in acest articol veti gasi raspunsul.

Orasul 404 este localizat undeva in provincia Gansu din nord-vestul Chinei, in jur de 100km in vestul Orasului Jiayuguan.

Acest eveniment a avut loc in desertul Gobi in Regiunea Autonoma Xinjiang Uyghur.

Orasul are doar 4 kilometri insa are propriul sau guvern municipal, propriul sau departament de politie, statie de televizor – de fapt are chiar si propriul sau tribunal si propria sa puscarie. In ciuda marimii sale mediocre, Orasul 404 este mult mai mare decat pare; ba chiar are un sistem devensiv subteran in cazul unui razboi nuclear.

China’s Abandoned Nuclear City

Did you ever get a 404 error on your PC? Perhaps you wrote the wrong link or the page wasn’t available at the moment, either way, you have stumbled upon one at least once in your life. Ever wondered where the code 404 comes from? Well here’s the answer to your question. The series of numbers 404 actually refers to a city in China, but not just any city, an abandoned city. The reason why it is abandoned is because China had used the city to host a nuclear bomb.

The 404 City is located somewhere in the Gansu province in China’s northwest, around 100 kilometers to the west of Jiayuguan City. The name of the city comes from 404 Co. Ltd., a company which was known for making nuclear bombs.

In order to make sure that the nuclear bomb would be made perfectly without any interruptions China’s best nuclear scientists and experts were transferred to 404, along with top notch mechanics, experienced doctors and other highly trained supporting staff members. After only 6 years, in the year 1964, China had recorded its very first successful nuclear bomb detonation. This event took place in the Gobi Desert in the neighboring Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region.

Although it might seem strange, it is nothing new. Each and every country which has the capacity to manufacture nuclear bombs has to have a place to build and detonate them. For example, although people are not 100% sure about it, it is quite clear that nuclear bombs are being manufactured in the Area 51 which is located in Nevada in the western United States. It may seem out of the ordinary, but it is actually quite common. The only reason why China’s location is known so well is because it is no longer used as a nuclear bomb host anymore. At the moment it feels mostly deserted with only a handful of citizens left and a lot of unoccupied buildings.

The city is only 4 square kilometers long and it has its very own municipal government, police department, television station – in fact it even has its very own courthouse and prison. Despite its obvious lacking size, City 404 actually is much bigger than it looks; it even has a complete underground defense system in case of a nuclear war.

Nowadays the whole place is pretty much desolate, except for only around 1,000 residents. The rest of the citizens that were living in City 404 were all relocated in Jiayuguan in 2006. Because of the very small amount of people actually living in that zone very few houses have occupants. This offers the city a very grim, ghost town vibe which can scare off even the most adventure-hungry individual. Every single building is traditionally built, so it’s basically like walking through a street that keeps on looping for quite a while. It most definitely is a very trippy experience, not one for the weak of heart.
